NCB coordinates 8 state sci-tech programs, in cooperation with about 40 research organizations from Kazakhstan and Russia:
Development and application of genetically engineered and cell technologies in medicine, agriculture, environment protection, food and processing industries
Development and introduction to selection practice of molecular-genetic and bio-engineering methods for accelerated generation of new high-yielding varieties of agricultural crops ordered to enhance the future national food security
Sci-tech securing of government regulation over circulation of genetically modified objects in the Republic of Kazakhstan
Integrated ecologic and epidemiologic survey of biocenosis of the Caspian water area and development of measures aimed at its sanitation
Change-over of the national research laboratories for the international standards of Good Scientific Practice
Development of scientifically supported consumption rates for the main types of products, meeting the global standards
Ecological evaluation and biological remediation of disturbed ecosystems in the oil extraction areas
Supplementation, study and maintenance of a collection of plants, animals, microorganisms and unique genetic banks in order to save biological diversity of Kazakhstan
