As a result, START-Park technology emerged in 2009. START-Park IMIT - the first innovation park to implement the new START-Park technology - was created in 2010 in Cherepovets involving private capital. The project’s rated capacity: 1st year - 1-2 innovation companies, 2nd year - 3-4 startups, 3rd and subsequent years - 5-6 new companies a year.

In 2011, two more START-Parks were launched in Vologda and Penza. The formal opening of START-Park Vologda is planned for January 2012, START-Park Penza – for March-April 2012.
