Investment Fair
Annual Investment Fairhas become the main business and investment event in Orel Region, since it was first held in 1997.
The event is aimed at establishment and expansion of business contacts of local enterprises with both domestic and foreign partners in view to attract investment for creation, renovation and development of production in various branches.
Billions of roubles were invested in the economy of Orel Region since the first fair had taken place. Over the last 5 years alone, investment agreements for the total sum of RUR 114 bln have been signed at Investment Fairs.
The majority of investment proposals involve introduction of advanced technologies into production, utilization of sci-tech progress advances, market infrastructure development. A good deal of industrial and agricultural companies, small business companies prepare their own investment proposals, develop business plans and take active part in the investment process.

Orel Economic Forum
The first Economic Forum took place in summer 2009. Over a thousand representatives of authorities and business society from Russia and both near and far abroad participated in the event, 18 agreements with investors for the total of more than RUR 5 bln (over USD 160 mln) were signed.
During the second Orel Economic Forum, held in October 2010, the most promising investment projects were presented by over 100 representatives of the regions. The exhibited business projects covered nearly all the spheres of industrial and economic activity of the region: agriculture, machine-building, biotechnology- and nanotechnology-based hi-tech production, development of telecommunications, cellular communication and high-speed Internet.
A number of agreements on construction of large-scale industrial and agricultural facilities have been signed. The regional authorities concluded several investment agreements for the total sum of RUR 33 bln (USD 1.1 bln).
