Nizhny Novgorod to have youth “science techno-city” with submarines and hydrofoils

Nizhny Novgorod regional authorities are creating in Nizhny in the mid-Volga area what they call a “youth science techno-city,” the Alliance-Media National Business Partnership website reported, citing a source in the Nizhny Novgorod regional administration.

The project is reportedly aimed at providing a stronger incentive for senior high school children to choose engineering professions. The future “science techno-city” is expected to have a special youth techno-park with mini-submarines and hydrofoil ships.

The Nizhny authorities hope that the young visitors will in the future be developing their own real innovation models of new aircraft and submarines.
