From January 30 to February 3, 2012, the traditional Russia Forum will take place in Moscow for the fifth year in a row. This anniversary Forum will become the leading event for the financial industry of Russia and the CIS. The forthcoming Russia Forum 2012 will be held through the combined efforts of Sberbank of Russia and Troika Dialog and will feature a new, extended format which will make it even more interesting and varied in terms of topics, and even more representative in terms of participants and speakers than in previous years.

In previous Forums, prominent economists have taken part including Alan Greenspan, Nouriel Roubini, political leaders – Igor Shuvalov, Alexei Kudrin; Elvira Nabiullina, Sergei Sobyanin, Arkady Dvorkovich, and the heads of the largest global companies such as Richard Branson, Anatoly Chubais, and Carlos Ghosn, Herman Gref, Vijay Mallya, Varel Freeman, Christof Ruehl and Michael Milken.

The fundamental changes in the global economy that we are witnessing, new realities facing Russia in such conditions, and necessary changes in economic policy are topics that will be discussed within the framework of the upcoming Russia Forum 2012. Russia is entering a new political cycle. The State Duma to be elected at the end of 2011 will serve for five years, while the President, who will be elected soon after the Forum, will be in power until 2018. Changes in Russian legislation will allow the new government to develop longer-term programs. What must be done during the transition to a more stable model of economic growth? What will be the country’s budget policy? Will it be possible to reduce the dependence of Russia’s economy on external factors? These are only a few of the many issues which will be discussed at The Russia Forum 2012.

As a part of The Russia Forum 2012, from January 31 to February 1, one-on-one meetings will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Moscow hotel with investors as well as workshops. Attendance of these meetings and workshops will be by special invitation only. The main part of the Forum (for delegates) will be held on February 2-3 at the Moscow International House of Music (MIHM). It will feature public panel sessions, discussions and round tables.
